A successful assessment is not however the end of the journey for an organisation. Certification bodies will then make regular surveillance visits to ensure that the assessed management system is being adhered to correctly.

Day-to-day operational pressures can often take over post-assessment. It is commonplace that relevant documentation is not updated or internal audit procedures are not followed properly.
