West Midlands Quality Centre offers advice on and support for three main Standards – ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001, and can also cover other Standards on request.
ISO 9001:2000
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised standard for quality. It is based on eight key management principles, which are:

- Involvement of people
- Process approach
- System approach to management
- Continual improvement
- Factual approach to decision making
- Mutually beneficial supplier relationships
ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 is an international standard that specifies a process for controlling and improving a companys environmental performance, and consists of:
- General requirements
- Environmental policy
- Planning
- Implementation and operation
- Checking and corrective action
- Management review
OHSAS 18001
OHSAS 18001 is the assessment specification for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. It addresses the following key areas:
- Planning for hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
- OHSAS management programme
- Structure and responsibility
- Training, awareness and competence
- Consultation and communication
- Operational control
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Performance measuring, monitoring and improvement
