Free employment law tool from BIS

The Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) has launched a new free tool to help you understand and manage your employment law obligations.

What is it?

The free Employment Law Organiser tool explains the key obligations that employers need to meet, and includes links through to the relevant government guidance on the Business Link website. It sits as an icon on your desktop and when opened is designed to appear as a personal organiser split into three areas - starting, staying and leaving - to cover the complete lifecycle of your employees.

The tool has been developed following requests from small business for a summary of their obligations when it comes to managing their business and its final design is based on real feedback from over 250 small businesses.

Why use it?

It’s free and extremely simple to use. It can receive updates as and when new legislation is introduced. It includes a calendar function to enable users to save important dates and reminders to review obligations. It will also be of use to anyone engaged in HR activity for small businesses.

Where can I find it?
