Programme Aim
The Learning and Development NVQ programme will enable you to gain a nationally recognised qualification to prove that your skills, knowledge and competence meet the national standards for this area. This course is ideal if you would like to boost your skills, sharpen your awareness of best practice, enhance your overall management performance and progress your career.
Learning and Development Framework
The Learning and Development framework comprises of a series of both mandatory and optional units that are relevant to the desired level of qualification. Learners can align a selection of optional units to which best suit their role and responsibilities.
All units within the framework have been carefully aligned to one of the four stages within the learning cycle:
- Identify learning needs
- Plan & design learning
- Deliver learning
- Evaluate learning outcomes.
Who are these qualifications for?
This qualification is suitable for people who identify learning aims, styles, and needs of individuals, and deliver and/or develop learning and development programmes designed to meet those needs.
It is also for those who have management responsibility for identifying and implementing organisational learning needs aligned with the learning and development strategy of the organisation.
Entry Requirements
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements to start this qualification, to successfully complete this qualification you are expected to be working in one of the roles outlined above and in a position to collect the appropriate evidence.
Qualification Delivery
The journey to your Advice and Guidance NVQ qualification begins with a ‘skills scan’ and action planning. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable within their role.
Regular interaction is maintained with your assessor who will provide developmental feedback against the evidence presented. Assessment further comprises a mixture of ‘on the job’ observations and professional discussion.
Additional Awards
As part of the of Learning and Development framework, additional awards are also available for those who support, review progress, and advise individual learners by means of mentoring and/or coaching. OCR accredited Certificates are available in:
- Coaching learners in the workplace
- Mentoring learners in the workplace
