Programme Aim
The Enterprise Coaching Award aims to develop a broad base of knowledge and skills for those providing enterprise coaching services within a community setting.
Enterprise Coaching Framework
The Award consists of 6 mandatory units:
- Use networks to support enterprise coaching activity
- Engage clients in enterprise coaching
- Deliver enterprise coaching
- Use coaching to help people develop enterprise skills
- Help clients access additional support
- Deliver a professional enterprise coaching service
Who is this award for?
The Enterprise Coaching Award has been developed for ‘enterprise support professionals’ working in a community setting with individuals, or small groups, with a focus on increasing their capacity to be ‘enterprising’ which may include becoming self employed.
This may include professionals who are ‘integrated’ within the local community but have limited experience of business and business support. Where this is the case this Award can be used as a focus for learning activity and training to equip individuals to perform in the role as an Enterprise Coach.
The award is also suitable for those in an Enterprise Agency, Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) projects, RDA initiative, or you might be an independent Enterprise/Business Coach, public sector business support professional, social enterprise or community organisation.
Delivery
Every candidate will have a personal assessor allocated to them.
A typical journey towards achieving the qualification will involve:
- Completion of a self-assessment against the award framework
- An initial meeting with your assessor to review your existing skills/current role. Together you will plan how you will demonstrate that you meet the standards and how you will fill any gaps through a development plan.
- Observation(s) by your assessor of you carrying out your role, feedback and discussion.
- Gathering evidence to demonstrate that you meet the requirements of the qualification.
- A final professional discussion and agreement of ongoing professional development.
You would normally be expected to complete the qualification within 12 months.
What about training and development?
As with other SFEDI awards, you are not required to attend specific courses or programmes of study. Where you identify a gap in your knowledge or performance you decide, in consultation with your assessor, how you will fill that gap.
WMQC offers various workshops and/or mentoring to meet your specific needs. Your assessor will be able to discuss these with you.
