Director Development Programme

As a principal or key decision maker within your organisation your leadership and management skills have a direct impact on the successful performance of your business. However, having the time or being able to access the training and development that you may need is not always easy.

Business Link in the West Midlands understands the importance of skills development at decision maker level, and to help support the business needs of organisations within the West Midlands, Business Link have introduced a dedicated programme of support known as the “Director Development Programme (DDP)”

DDP will help you identify the right training that meets your personal and business requirements. The programme is flexible and recognises both formal and informal training.

Funding Support

Grant Funding of up to £1000 is available. The first £500 grant is available to the principal or key decision maker. An additional £500 grant is available but must be cash matched. It can be utilised by the principal/key decision maker or additional director(s) identified by the principal decision maker. However the grant cannot be used as the employer contribution towards other LSC or ESF funded training.

Eligibility

  • DDP provides grants to the principal or key decision maker of enterprises of between 5-249 employees (including unpaid volunteers)
  • Be less than 25% owned by a large organisation
  • Be based within the West Midlands
  • Have not received the DDP Grant since April 2007.
  • How can WMQC help?

As a preferred supplier to the Business Link, WMQC have an exciting opportunity to utilise the director development programme to help our clients with funded training, business coaching, and mentoring support.

Our associate trainers and consultants can contact you to discuss your individual training and development needs. We will design and deliver a tailored programme of support that meets your business requirements.

In a joint partnership, West Midlands Business Link will support your chosen programme with up to £1000 of funding.

    The Process

To engage with the Director Development Programme you will be required to complete a very brief Business Link referral form to confirm eligibility to the programme.

WMQC will appoint an appropriate specialist to discuss with you your individual training and development needs and agree a proposal of business coaching or mentoring support. Business Link West Midlands will contact you to complete a training needs analysis and personal development plan to ensure that the proposed programme of support meets those needs identified by you.

Following completion of the agreed support, an evaluation to ensure that the support undertaken meets the needs identified in your personal development plan is completed. The grant funding is then claimed back directly from the Business Link via an invoice, together with a receipted invoice from WMQC.

Please note that a dedicated account manager from West Midlands Business Link will offer support and guidance throughout the entire process.
